I am a man of faith. I trust God for all things, and I do my best to follow Him. This leads me to desire to care for others in my community. I have been involved in many community service efforts throughout the years, mostly through the church I attended. I participated in the relief efforts in Mississippi after Hurricane Katrina to serve the local community in Bay St. Louis. I’ve encouraged my employees and brought a dozen of them with us to help stuff backpacks for the needy at Giving Children Hope in Fullerton, CA over the years. My wife and I have assisted in different food and clothing ministries for the poor and homeless.
Our streets, parks and neighborhoods have been turned into vast wastelands of encampments resembling something right out of the movie “Escape from New York”.
It’s time to develop thoughtful, caring treatment programs for those addicted to substance abuse.
We can no longer tolerate simply handing them a room key without providing the treatment they need to become productive members of society.
