In 2018, Jena Griswold was elected as the first Democratic Secretary of State in Colorado in 60 years. She became the first Democratic woman Secretary of State in Colorado’s history. Jena has been able to lead, and work with the legislature to pass, one of the largest democracy reform packages in the nation and the nation’s first bill to protect our elections from insider threats. Griswold has overseen six statewide elections, protected the right to vote, increased election security, and improved voting access across Colorado.
Secretary of State Jena Griswold has ensured our elections are secure by passing the Colorado Election Security Act to further protect our elections from insider threats, working closely with local, state and federal law enforcement to secure the physical and cyber security of our election processes and workers, and ensuring that election workers are protected from threats of violence just for doing their jobs. Secretary Griswold also worked to establish the first-in-the-nation state unit to combat election disinformation.
