Jacqui Irwin

Assemblymember Jacqui Irwin is a mother, engineer, and community leader with two decades of leadership in our community. Jacqui Irwin works across party lines to help create jobs, balance our local and state budgets, and she works to keep our communities safe.

BUILDING OUR ECONOMY

  • Championed reinstating Net Operating Loss (NOLs) tax credits and Research and Development (R&D) tax credits helping California small businesses and our local economy.

  • Led coalition to provide Inflation Relief, resulting in the Middle Class Tax Refund sending back up to $1,000 to every California family.

  • Passed a State Budget focusing $47 billion towards infrastructure Investment building schools, transportation, housing.

  • Secured Funding to start Engineering School at CSU Channel Islands, a critical need identified by the local business community

  • Created the University of California Innovation and Entrepreneurship Initiative, with initial funding of $22 million in 2016. The program encourages the UC to convert research and science into products that benefit society. This CalChamber “Job Creator”, resulted in a return on investment of over 14 times, enabling over 1,000 start-ups and at least 529 product launches from UC research.
