Jacqui Irwin

Assemblymember Jacqui Irwin is a mother, engineer, and community leader with two decades of leadership in our community. Jacqui Irwin works across party lines to help create jobs, balance our local and state budgets, and she works to keep our communities safe.

RECORD OF ACCOMPLISHMENTS

  • Assemblymember Jacqui Irwin served on the Thousand Oaks City Council for ten years with two terms as Mayor before her election to the State Assembly in 2014.

  • As our Assemblymember, she fights to balance the budget and restore funding for education and public safety. Her experience with state and local issues is extensive and hands-on.

  • During her time in the Legislature, Assemblymember Irwin has passed 86 laws into law. Helping fix problems for everyday Californians, creating new consumer rights, supporting students from Preschool through College, expanding recycling and other environmental programs, enhancing government and personal cybersecurity, and much more.

  • Assemblymember Irwin also knows how to make sure her constituents see the benefits of the taxes they pay. When safety and noise issues about the MetroLink were raised in Simi Valley, Assemblymember Irwin was quick to secure $4.5 million in the State Budget for critical improvements to the rail crossing to save lives and reduce noise pollution.
