Tackle the immense challenge of expanding healthcare choices and options for our veterans and their families. I will ensure the VA keeps its sights trained on proper implantation of the VA MISSION Act, and that badly needed improvements and reforms are continued.
> Address the national tragedy of a daily suicide rate exceeding 20 deaths. We will provide veterans better mental health services and improve suicide prevention, by passing bipartisan legislation to help VA build partnerships with community groups who can offer direct help to Veterans who are at risk of harming themselves.
Hold the VA accountable to give our veterans the resources they need to understand their health care choices and rights. I will ensure the VA improves and expands its education efforts to ensure all veterans and their families are aware of their new health care choices, benefits, and options.
> Move the VA forward in better integrating VA services and Medicare services. Veterans should not have to navigate between VA Healthcare and Medicare on their own. I will push the VA to coordinate healthcare between the two programs to ensure that veterans always receive customized, high quality coordinated care that improves outcomes and maximizes health benefits
Eliminate deficiencies, fraud, and waste in the VA so that every dollar spent is leveraged to support excellence in serving our veterans, their families, and survivors.
> Defend against any further efforts to reduce education choices for our veterans so that they may use GI benefits the way they see fit to do so. These benefits are not government giveaways. They were earned by our veterans and they themselves should decide what education institutions, for profit or otherwise, are best suited to enhance their job and career opportunities
