Brian Maryott is a businessman who worked his way through college washing dishes and doing overnight janitorial work, became a Certified Financial Planner, and was eventually promoted to Senior Vice President of his company where he helped manage billions in client assets. Democrats in Washington continue to tell the American people that our jobs are back, our wages are up, and our economy is strong. But let me ask you this: do you feel more financially secure today than you did 2 years ago? How about 4 years ago, pre-covid? I have conversations every day in our communities, and the feedback I get points to the opposite. Our families and small business owners are feeling the squeeze of inflation, higher interest rates, higher gas and energy prices, and a greater level of uncertainty about their economic future.
Once elected I will have the honor of representing one of the most beautiful coastal districts in the country. I will support measures to keep our environment safe and clean, and work to unleash the power of innovators and technology to allow the United States to continue its role as a global leader in decreasing carbon emissions.
Illegal immigration is at an all-time high. Deadly drugs, including highly poisonous Fentanyl, are pouring across our southern border and tragically ending the lives of our young and vulnerable Americans.
As a father, I’m troubled that our education system is straying so far from the basics. As your Congressman, I will fight against the divisive dogma of Critical Race Theory and its inclusion in our education curriculum.
These foolish anti-police and so called ‘social justice reforms’ should stop now. We will never have peace of mind if we don’t feel safe. This starts with fully funding and supporting our police officers.
We will have to fully and consistently fund our military to maintain our technological superiority in warfare weaponry, and protect funding uncertainty by ending budget sequestration.
I will fight to protect and enhance our healthcare system by resisting reckless efforts to nationalize it which not only reduces choices but the quality of care as well.
I will support legislation to stop career politicians from a lifetime in office so that we as Americans and Californians, are better represented.
“As a Certified Financial Planner, I’ve spent most of my career helping families save for a rainy day, send their kids to college, and retire withdignity. I”m also a local elected official who knows how to use commonsense leadership and work with people from all walks of life to get results. As your Congressman I pledge to always do what is best for our district, not cater to special interests and fringe socialist interests.”

Ensure that every dollar of your federal tax money spent on this crisis is leveraged to enhance the economy, and help provide future opportunities for the very people who are going to be re-paying it…our children, and our children’s children.
> Fight for federal legislation to shield small business owners, and critical industry larger employers from Covid related liability – exempting only those employers who do not follow strict guidelines and operate in good faith
Expand financial planning options for families to minimize their tax burden in the aftermath of Covid - and fight for more flexible terms for repayment of both federal and private and student loans.

while modifying existing programs to include job training and work requirements, and strive to end the cruelty of generational dependency.
Tackle the immense challenge of expanding healthcare choices and options for our veterans and their families. I will ensure the VA keeps its sights trained on proper implantation of the VA MISSION Act, and that badly needed improvements and reforms are continued.
> Address the national tragedy of a daily suicide rate exceeding 20 deaths. We will provide veterans better mental health services and improve suicide prevention, by passing bipartisan legislation to help VA build partnerships with community groups who can offer direct help to Veterans who are at risk of harming themselves.
Hold the VA accountable to give our veterans the resources they need to understand their health care choices and rights. I will ensure the VA improves and expands its education efforts to ensure all veterans and their families are aware of their new health care choices, benefits, and options.
> Move the VA forward in better integrating VA services and Medicare services. Veterans should not have to navigate between VA Healthcare and Medicare on their own. I will push the VA to coordinate healthcare between the two programs to ensure that veterans always receive customized, high quality coordinated care that improves outcomes and maximizes health benefits
Eliminate deficiencies, fraud, and waste in the VA so that every dollar spent is leveraged to support excellence in serving our veterans, their families, and survivors.
> Defend against any further efforts to reduce education choices for our veterans so that they may use GI benefits the way they see fit to do so. These benefits are not government giveaways. They were earned by our veterans and they themselves should decide what education institutions, for profit or otherwise, are best suited to enhance their job and career opportunities
Maintain a strong, compassionate social safety net while modifying existing programs to include job training and work requirements, and strive to end the cruelty of generational dependency.
