“MY GOAL IS TO AWAKEN CALIFORNIANS TO FIGHT BACK FOR OUR CHILDREN AND THEIR EDUCATION AND RE-ESTABLISH COMMON SENSE IN THE GOLDEN STATE.”
-SOO YOO, FOR THE 67TH DISTRICT
Soft on crime policies coming out of Sacramento have given rise to career criminals targeting our communities. These policies always seem to benefit the criminals, not the crime victims. The rise in crime on our streets and in our businesses is negatively impacting the quality of life in Southern California and is the direct result of one party rule. I want to work with my colleagues to repeal Prop 47, put in place tougher penalties for repeat offenders, and stop giving DAs with liberal agendas the freedom to ignore which laws they want to prosecute.
As a school board member, I believe strongly in giving parents the right to have a role in their children’s education. Parents should be in charge of teaching their children morality and should be able to pick the school that best meets the needs and belief systems of their families
Despite efforts of the majority party, I am a strong supporter of Prop 13 and will fight hard against efforts to weaken it. I oppose split roll, which will drive even more businesses out of California and raise costs exponentially on the ones that are left. I also support the legislation to immediately lower the gas tax to give drivers instant relief at the pump.
California has spent about $17B on trying to solve homelessness and the problem has gotten worse, not better. I will immediately call for an audit to determine where exactly that money went. I want to advocate for mental health and drug addiction treatment that helps address the root causes of homelessness. Our streets and parks are not suitable and can create dangerous situations for our communities.
