Congresswoman Mikie Sherrill proudly represents New Jersey’s 11th Congressional District.
After graduating from the United States Naval Academy in 1994, Congresswoman Sherrill spent almost 10 years on active duty in the United States Navy. She flew missions throughout Europe and the Middle East as a Sea King helicopter pilot, worked on the Battle Watch Floor in the European Theater during the Iraq invasion, and served as a Flag Aide to the Deputy Commander in Chief of the U.S. Atlantic Fleet. Congresswoman Sherrill also served as a Russian policy officer and worked on the implementation of our nuclear treaty obligations and oversaw the relationship between the U.S. Navy and Russian Federation Navy.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) considers the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) to be a serious public health threat. Below you can find updates from the CDC on the virus and safety information for the public and healthcare professionals. Residents who have questions or concerns should call New Jersey’s COVID-19 hotline at 1-800-222-1222 or 1-800-962-1253 if using an out-of-state phone line.
It is hard to believe it has been 20 years since that fateful Tuesday morning in September that changed our world forever and cost us so many loved ones. 749 New Jerseyans died on 9/11, at least 93 of them residing in what is now the 11th Congressional District. As we do every year, we honor their lives by coming together as a community and continuing to keep their memories alive. We promised to never forget, and we’re keeping that promise.
We will never forget those we lost in the towers, at the Pentagon, and on Flight 93. We will never forget the first responders from New Jersey who went into the city to save lives and recover others from the rubble.
It has been 20 years since they left this Earth, and still their presence is felt everywhere in our communities. Today and all days we honor those residents of NJ-11 we lost who are listed-- below -- they will never be forgotten.

Article 1, Section 2 of the Constitution requires a count of the population every ten years. The Census is used to apportion seats in the U.S. House of Representatives and for the allocation of billions of dollars to states, municipalities, and residents. For New Jerseyans, that means funding for everything from infrastructure projects, to hospitals, to schools.
The Census only takes 10 minutes to complete and will ensure New Jersey gets a fair return on our federal tax dollars. Fill out the Census today and get counted.
The following Community Projects are those being submitted by Representative Mikie Sherrill on behalf of New Jersey's 11th Congressional District. In this extremely competitive process, Rep. Sherrill was only able to submit 15 project requests out of the dozens received. Those requests must be for state or local governments, government-adjacent organizations, and nonprofits only. Final decisions on which projects ultimately receive funding will be made by the House Committee on Appropriations later this year and must be passed through the Fiscal Year 2023 Congressional budget process.
