Mike Stoker is an accomplished public servant who has represented the interests of Central Coast families, farmers, and small-business owners for more than three decades. He has fought to provide fair, independent, and responsive solutions at every level of government, from Santa Barbara County to Washington, D.C.
Mike believes that our current state leaders are taking California in the wrong direction. He will fight to put our state back on track.
Mike served as the President of the Santa Barbara Tax Payers Association and has consistently opposed increased taxes and fees. As Mike likes to say, “Fees are nothing more than taxes spelled with an F.” He is the only candidate endorsed by the Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association.
Since first entering public service over thirty years ago, Mike has always supported law enforcement and the policies needed to combat crime and make cities and neighborhoods safer across California — that’s why he’s been endorsed by the Santa Barbara County Deputy Sheriff’s Association, which represents over 500 law enforcement offices serving in Santa Barbara County. Mike will never support any effort to defund law enforcement.
Supports new policies and innovative projects that will make water more readily available to all California residents.
Supports policies that will reduce the cost of gas at the pump and initiatives to make energy more readily available to California residents
Mike understands that parents should play an active role in their children’s education, and supports policies to increase their power at school.
Mike has been a small businessman since he started his law firm in 1980. He has received national recognition for his advocacy in fighting for small businesses over his 30 years of public service. In the Assembly, he will oppose measures that make it difficult for our small business to survive.
