Evan Low is an American politician currently serving in the California State Assembly. He is a Democrat representing the 28th Assembly District, which encompasses parts of the Northern CA South Bay and Silicon Valley.
With Donald Trump in the Oval Office and extremist Republicans in control of Washington, it’s more important than ever that we have pro-equality advocates in our state legislatures. As chair of the LGBT Caucus, Evan has been a proud champion for LGBT rights. California has the largest LGBT population in the nation – and Evan has fought tireless to support, protect and uplift our state’s LGBT community.
California is home to some of the most remarkable ecosystems in the world – but we’ve also experienced the dangers of climate change firsthand. From rising temperatures to destructive wildfires, all Californians have been affected by global warming, but our state is leading the fight to take climate action seriously. In the Assembly, Evan has proudly supported legislation for clean air, clean water, and clean energy. This is our home – and we need to treat it with respect.
The Bay Area is in the midst of a serious housing crisis, making our neighborhoods some of the least affordable in the United States. Soaring costs are pushing families out of their homes – and out of the Bay Area altogether. By building new affordable housing and promoting housing developments near public transportation, Evan is determined to increase affordability and livability to help keep families in the homes they love and the communities they know.
The Silicon Valley is home to the brightest innovators in the world – and Evan is committed to protecting and promoting California’s technology and innovation sectors. Not only does this industry creates jobs in our communities, but it produces truly creative solutions to improve peoples’ lives. As Co-Chair of the California Tech Caucus, Evan has worked to ensure that future generations learn the skills they need to thrive in this sector, create policies that support innovation, and support businesses that revive our entire region.
