Congressman Drew Ferguson is a proud native of West Point whose family roots in the West Georgia area are several generations deep. He attended the University of Georgia and gained early acceptance to the Medical College of Georgia. After graduating with a degree in dental medicine, he moved back to his hometown and established a successful family dental practice.
In 2008, Congressman Ferguson was elected mayor of West Point and was at the forefront of attracting and keeping jobs in his community. By lowering taxes, eliminating government barriers and reforming education, he led a community in economic ruin back to life. Today, a wide range of new businesses and industries call West Point and the surrounding area home. Led by KIA Motors, automotive suppliers and related businesses, 16,000 new jobs have been created so far. Congressman Ferguson came to Washington to apply the lessons he learned revitalizing West Point to creating policies that once again make America the most competitive place to do business.
Thanks to the pro-growth policy victories of the 115th Congress, the United States is once again the most competitive place in the world to do business. Drew fought for the passage of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act so that Georgians could keep more of their hard-earned money. He also voted to rollback burdensome regulations that were strangling Main Street job creators. Drew will continue to fight to ensure federal policies promote, not hinder, economic growth and that American businesses have fair and open access to markets around the world. |

As a dentist for 25 years, Drew understands the importance of reducing health care costs and increasing access to care. Our current healthcare system is deeply flawed, forcing folks into insurance plans that don’t fit their needs and away from doctors they trust. As a medical practitioner, Drew wants what is best for patients, and he is committed to repealing the Affordable Care Act and supporting health care reform that will decrease costs, increase access to care, and put patients first. |

National Defense Providing for our national defense is the most important job entrusted to the Federal Government. That means ensuring that the brave men and women who defend our freedoms have the resources they need to combat 21st century threats around the globe. Drew has voted to ensure our military receives critical funding and give our troops their largest pay raise in eight years. Border Security Drew believes that protecting the homeland starts with securing our borders. In the 115th Congress, he introduced H.R. 6415, the American Border Act, which would authorize construction and ensure the necessary funding to build a wall along our southern border in keeping with President Trump’s commitment to the American people. Drew has also voted to fulfill President Trump’s full funding request for construction of a southern border wall. Serving our Veterans Our dedication to those who choose to serve our country doesn’t end when they take off the uniform. In the 115th Congress, Drew voted to reform the VA, hold federal bureaucrats accountable for providing quality care to veterans and make it easier for veterans to access education benefits. |
Education
Drew is committed to ending the cycle of generational poverty and ensuring everyone has the opportunity to pursue the American dream. As a member of the Committee on Education and the Workforce in the 115th Congress, Drew worked to expand Career and Technical Education (CTE) opportunities for students. Drew was an original cosponsor of H.R. 2353, which supports innovative CTE initiatives like those across the Third District. President Trump signed H.R. 2353 into law on July 31, 2018.
Reining in Government Spending
Creating a brighter future also means taking action so that our children and grandchildren aren’t saddled with crushing federal debt. Drew served on the Committee on the Budget in the 115th Congress and led the fight to rein in the federal government’s out of control spending. Drew believes it is morally wrong to leave behind a crushing debt for future generations, and he remains committed to reforming the real driver of our debt and deficit: mandatory spending.
Protecting Life
Drew believes life begins at conception and has fought to protect the unborn, maintain long-standing prohibitions on taxpayer funding for abortion, and end taxpayer funding for to Planned Parenthood. He has repeatedly voted to protect our most vulnerable by voting for H.R. 7 the No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion and Abortion Insurance Full Disclosure Act, H.R. 4712 the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act and H.R. 36 the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act.
Defending the Second Amendment
Drew is a steadfast advocate for protecting Americans’ Second Amendment freedom. Drew cosponsored H.R. 38 the Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act in the 115th Congress, and he will continue to defend our Second Amendment rights.
Rural Broadband
Folks living across rural America should have every opportunity to succeed as their fellow citizens in the United States’ largest cities. Broadband is essential 21st century infrastructure, but many rural communities do not have access to this critical tool and the educational and economic opportunities it provides. Drew is fighting to ensure folks across Georgia’s Third District have access to broadband, regardless of where they live, so they can compete in the global marketplace.
Transportation
As a member of the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, he worked on the first long-term reauthorization of the Federal Aviation Administration since 2012, and the 2018 Water Resources Development Act (WRDA) to strengthen our infrastructure for a 21st century world. WRDA included funding authorization for the ongoing work to deepen the Port of Savannah, a gateway to the global economy for businesses across Georgia.
