Born in the suburbs of Boston, Dan first came to California as a prospective freshman at Stanford in 1995. After visiting San Diego periodically, he decided to move to the area full-time in 2020, to launch his financial advisory firm, Determined Advisors LLC. Before hanging his own shingle, Dan worked for 16 years as an analyst and investor at several prominent firms, including as a Managing Director at Charles Schwab (2013-2018).
Now is the time to repeal the gas tax for good, putting money back in the pockets of hardworking Californians. Meanwhile, California’s state income tax tops out at a staggering 13.3%. We should bring this in line with places like Oregon, Arizona and Nevada, so we stop losing our best people to neighboring states.
When our elected officials refuse to punish criminals and maintain border security, everyday Californians suffer. We see the effects on a daily basis, whether it be in the form of homeless camps or the loss of loved ones to drug addiction. We must ensure our quality of life by holding those who break our laws accountable.
After 2+ years, the Covid-19 pandemic has become endemic. Governor Newsom has said as much, and he should acknowledge it officially by ending the state of emergency.
