Corbin earned a master’s degree in Criminal Justice from Xavier University by the young age of 23. Being the Son of a Naval Officer, Corbin decided to follow in his Father’s footsteps and become a Naval Officer himself after graduating, and now currently works as a civilian contractor in support of the United States Navy.
For too long the Democratic Party has attempted to rule over the people, catering to the special interests while turning their back on the American people. As your Assembly member I will empower the people by returning the decision-factor back to the people.
Excessive taxes and regulations, imposed by the Democratic Party hinder the people's ability to build new homes which adds to the housing crisis we are all experiencing. As your Assembly member I will fight to reduce unduly taxes and regulations.
Bad policies championed by the Democratic Party has created the energy crisis we are currently experiencing. We must utilize the resources we have available to us as we transition to more renewable energy, instead of leaving them behind.
The Democratic Party has turned its back on the homeless population in California. As your Assembly member I will be an advocate to getting the homeless population the proper care they need to get back on their feet.
The COVID-19 pandemic did not need to have the disastrous effects it did. Not only did the Democratic Party set us up for failure, nearly everything they did during the pandemic made it worse. We cannot allow them to remain in power...
Between releasing violent inmates early, to reducing the penalty for robbery, to backing the "defund the police" narrative, the Democratic Party is directly responsible for the rise in crime in California.
The Democratic Party wants children locked into school districts, however, all families, regardless of income levels, should be equipped with the funding and be allowed to choose the best educational institution for their children.
The American people feel overwhelmingly disenfranchised by their very own government. This is a calamity that cannot go unnoticed because too much power rests within our government and not with the people.
Generally, power rapidly swings back and forth between two dominant political parties with two opposing agendas and rarely nothing good happens as a result. However, here in California, we have something much worse, a supermajority in the State Legislature and Executive branch, funded by special interests all adhering to the same party, leaving their ideas unchallenged.
Government, on both sides of the political aisle, have infringed on the rights and liberties of the people, making it very difficult for the American people to pursue one of our key inalienable rights, the right to happiness.
To correct this wrong, I believe that the American people must be put into power once again. Unfortunately, the voting process gives us a false illusion of empowerment and truly empowering the people means allowing the people to make the individual decisions as much as possible, plain and simple.
The “decision-factor”, or the one who makes the decision must be driven to the most local level as possible. If the individual cannot solve a problem, local government gets involved. If local government cannot solve a problem, county-government gets involved, and so on and so forth for state governments and our federal government.
Sacramento politicians should support local governments and municipalities, not strive to rule over them.
Finally, our inalienable rights must be protected at all costs. Unfortunately, we have people in office who choose to take the people’s power by infringing on our rights, such as infringing on our right to pursue happiness by shutting down small businesses, or infringing on our right to privacy by wanting to have the power of what medical injections go inside your own body.
As your Assembly Member I will empower you by not only protecting your medical privacy, your bodily autonomy and your rights such as life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, but by actively looking for ways to help you pursue those rights so we the people may thrive, be prosperous and free as we deserve to be
Excessive and unduly taxes and regulations restrict the people’s ability to thrive and live a prosperous life.
We cannot, or must not, look at a topic such as taxes and regulations as a blanket statement. In other words, we cannot speak generally about this topic, go to either extreme and say that taxes and regulations are good or bad. We must look at them individually and determine in good faith and with common sense, what is necessary and what needs to be repealed. With that being said, some taxes and regulations are necessary, but others are not.
But the fact is the people are overtaxed and over regulated making it extremely difficult for the individual to get by and making it difficult to not only start a new businesses in the State of California, but difficult to keep one alive.
Government should not make it difficult for people to get by or to start their own business, on the contrary, it should be in government’s best interest that the people are thriving, independent and for more independently-owned businesses to exist and keep them in existence.
However, excessive and unnecessary taxes and regulations restrict all of that from happening and they restrict the people’s ability to live their best lives, grow, thrive and be prosperous as we all deserve to be. As your assembly member I will help repeal the restrictions our government puts on our ability to live our best lives as the free and thriving people we were meant to be.
We must do more than get homeless off the streets, but ensure they have the care they need.
First the mindset must be adopted that local governments, not Sacramento, are leading the charge to address this crisis. Although Sacramento can assist local governments as needed, such as providing funding or resources that may be obtained from the federal government and not available to local municipalities, it is the local governments that understand the needs of their community better than Sacramento politicians.
With that being said, there are many faith based organizations that are doing a wonderful job of helping the homeless population that does not want to be homeless. I would like to see more partnerships like these grow and expand.
We must also fund more rehabilitation programs to help addicts get clean, off the streets and their lives back, consult with mental health experts (and pay them accordingly) who understand best how to address the mental health needs of a large portion of the homeless population and we must provide more housing to our disabled veterans. These people served our country and now they need us to serve them.
I would also encourage out-of-the-box thinking, such as utilizing existing structures that are unused, to create safe communities for the homeless population to get clean and back on their feet on their own terms.
Finally, we must do everything we can to get illicit and highly addictive drugs off the streets and impose heavy fines and punishments for those who would deal these drugs to the people.
Many illicit drugs flow into our country from countries south of our border. In their constant pursuit to do things which they do not have the power to do, our federal government has foolishly neglected its duty to do one of the things it actually has the power to do, which is to secure our southern border. Therefore I will call on the state of California to secure what part of the border we can to protect our communities from those who would traffic illegal, harmful and illicit drugs into our country that destroy our communities and make it difficult for the homeless population to break the cycle of drug addiction
Having a healthy public is crucial if we are to face another pandemic.
Lockdowns did little to nothing to slow the spread of the COVID-19 during the pandemic. It was hypocritical for our politicians to shut down our beaches and parks and force small businesses to lockdown while allowing for the “big box” stores to remain open. It is borderline unforgivable for these politicians to have driven so many Americans to despair, while retaining their paycheck, ask for re-election, and lie to the American people that it was COVID-19, not them, that closed down businesses.
Furthermore, it is ridiculous for politicians to continuously tout that a vaccine is the best and only option to slow the spread of COVID-19 or prevent hospitalizations or deaths from COVID-19, or any other disease, when there are clearly other solutions and preventative measures. Bodily autonomy is a basic human right. Despite well-intentioned pleas to serve the greater good, the government’s coercion to inject a drug into any human is repugnant and laying the pathway to a dystopian future no American wants to live in.
The mishandling and lack of basic compassion from our elected leaders during this pandemic is unacceptable. We have been focusing too much on pursuing public health, and not giving enough focus to having a healthy public.
We must promote the importance of having a healthy lifestyle and healthy immune system in our culture. Education is key in fighting co-morbidities which accounted for a large portion of deaths in conjunction with COVID-19. We must use funds for more public service announcements promoting healthy eating and active lifestyles since our society has shifted from a labor intensive work force to a more sedentary work force.
Going forward, the best preparation for the inevitable pandemics to come is understanding the importance of being healthy and physically fit. According to the CDC, “About 78% of people who have been hospitalized, needed a ventilator or died from Covid-19 have been overweight or obese”.
If for some reason one is unable to incorporate a healthy diet due to financial hardship or lack of access, government can assist and look for pathways to ensure all people have access to healthy food, gym memberships, and public parks.
One of the main problems for our unhealthy culture is that unhealthy foods are easy to access and inexpensive, and the healthy foods are expensive and harder to access. This is a problem. Therefore, I would seek to incentivize privately-owned companies and local farms, with tax-credits, to offer ethically produced, clean, healthy and nutritious food to their communities.. I would also look at current regulations that make it cost prohibitive for companies to provide such products. I would also expand the WIC program to serve more families and increase the farmers market vouchers to help struggling families obtain more healthy food choices directly from small sustainable farms, as opposed to unhealthy foods which keep us sick and prevent us from thriving and being prosperous.
Gun violence is a sensitive topic but we must be careful what measures we put in place to solve this issue. Solving this problem, will not come quickly as deep, cultural wounds need to be healed in our country.
First, we must adopt a “tough-on-crime” mentality. We need not go after the law abiding citizen or the firearm, but rather, adopt a tough on crime mentality by making it very difficult for someone to justify committing crime. Taking this one step further, we must continue or efforts to reduce the recidivism rate in our state.
Second, we must equip and support law-enforcement in their duties to keep bad people off the street. We must ensure law-enforcement is not tasked with duties outside their abilities. For example, San Diego County recently established MCRT, or Mobile Crisis Response Team, a team of mental health professionals who alleviate the burden of law enforcement by responding to 911-calls that relate more to cases of mental health, and do not need the expertise of law enforcement. This allows law enforcement to focus their skills and resources to what the communities need most. We must ensure bad people and would-be criminals are kept off the streets, and we must also hold the bad police officers accountable who abuse their power and authority, and ensure they are not being hired and retained.
Third, as an elected representative of the people I will swear an oath to uphold and defend our Constitution which clearly states “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.” These are inalienable rights protected by the highest law of the land, and if I am to take my oath seriously, I will ensure the second amendment remains protected. Furthermore, gun laws do little to nothing to deter or stop crime, a criminal by definition does not abide by the law. We must ensure that law abiding citizens have the ability to defend themselves. A crazed psychopath who wants to kill innocent people in a public space or a school would think twice or be stopped much sooner if the law-abiding citizens were able to defend themselves and the most vulnerable amongst us, accordingly.
