My parents instilled in me a desire for excellence that I have always carried with me throughout my career. I was blessed to grow up in a loving family in Lunenburg, Mass and continue to consider Central Massachusetts my home. I was fortunate to have a strong family unit growing up and it served me well as I joined the Mass Army National Guard. I am committed to improving the quality of life for my constituents.
As a teacher, I discovered that a student's parents have the greatest impact on how well the student performs in school. I will work with parents and school officials to close the gap of communication so every student has the tools they need to succeed in public school. I believe the parents are the best ones to manage their children's education.
One of the greatest and most fulfilling jobs I've ever had was being a Dad. I love children and I will do everything I can to protect them. The unborn do not have a voice, and if no one will speak for them , I will. There is always an alternative to abortion.
Healthcare is not a right. It is a personal decision. Our culture is not set up to make it free. The government need only to spot check the healthcare insurance industry to keep it reasonable, not try to take it over. While I feel it is an important and necessary service, the government has no right to force citizens to buy something they may not want.
Caring for the environment is an important issue. We need to not only make going green viable for the average person, but they need to see the results, even locally. Forcing people to buy things to recycle is the wrong approach. An incentive program is a better way to encourage and reward people to avoid waste as much as possible.
Government accountability is a critical concern. Openness , clarity and factual accuracy are what people want from their officials and I plan to keep an open door as well as an open mind to my constituency.
Local businesses create local jobs, not the government. A living wage should match the value of the person doing that job. To force businesses to pay a wage for a job that doesn't warrant it is unfair. Let businesses grow and jobs, good paying jobs, will follow.
The George Floyd Tragedy has polarized our great nation and not in a good way. We are currently in crisis and the only way we can solve it is to work together. Whether you're black white, or any other race, we must set aside hate and the unwillingness to seek the truth and help restore the balance that our enemies have disrupted. Defunding the police will make it weaker and puts the public in danger. Reform is key but not at the risk of good police officers doing their sworn duty. Fascist groups have infested our nation and have turned friends and family against each other. Only by setting aside conflict and rejecting negatives influences from the media, Hollywood and leftist politicians, will we be able to seek out the truth together.
