Freshman Congresswoman Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in January 2022, becoming the first Haitian American Democrat to be elected to Congress. She now proudly represents Florida’s 20thdistrict. Rep. Cherfilus-McCormick is honored to serve on the House Committee on Education and Labor, as well as the House Committee on Veterans' Affairs. She is also a member of the Congressional Black Caucus, Haitian Caucus, and the Caribbean Caucus.
Our office is generally only able to assist constituents who have open immigration cases. Specifically, our office can work with federal agencies to get status updates on the following applications and cases:

Before submitting a congressional casework inquiry about pending applications, please check the status of your case and check the USCIS office processing times. If your case is outside of normal processing times, we can submit an inquiry on your behalf and ask about the status of your case.
Please note that due to limited availability, in-person appointments for travelers who are seeking to rush their passports cannot be guaranteed and are limited to life-or-death emergencies.
