Born in Chicago’s poor south side, as my parents Irving &Mary had moved from Tennessee to Chicago at 17, and 16 years old I came along a year later, my Father was a Baptist and Mom a Catholic
My statements on abortion have taken time, a great deal of research and help from Dennis Prager videos, some of his explation on abortation have been thought provoking and very helpful, some of his thoughts are here with my view and options of abortion. Thank You Mr. Prager
There will be people that will not like what I have to say on this subject, none of my on abortion is based on religion, it is based in logic, and morality. A man named Nathan Hentoff (1925 to 2917) was an American historian, novelist, a jazz, and country music critic, he was also a syndicated columnist for the “Village Voice” (1958 to 2008). Hentoff was and still is today a well-known published author. Another piece of this individual is the fact that he was an “Atheist “he did not believe there is a God or religion, he was a Committed Atheist, Hentoff, espoused liberal views on domestic policy and civil liberties. In the 1980’s he began articulating more on social positions especially in regards to medical ethics and reproductive rights, He was Opposed to Abortion” voluntary euthanasia, and the selective medical treatment of infants he believed that a “Consistent Life Ethic” should be the viewpoint of a genuine “Civil Libertarian” arguing that all humans rights are at risk when rights of one group are diminished, that human rights are interconnected, and that people deny others rights at their peril. The “American Conservative Magazine” called him the Jewish, Atheist, Pro-Life Libertarian “Hawk” in America.
Her body her choice statements are false, no one is telling any women what to do with her body, Society has the right to tell her what she can do with the “baby, child, embryo whatever the definition, what she can do with “another body.” What it means is yes, it is her body, but not what is in her body” No one not even the pro-choice people will ever ask a pregnant woman “how’s your body” they ask how the Baby is! the Rederick of her body her choice, does not apply to what is in her body, as to this statement of her body her choice is not factual, in the Miss America Pagent, the contestants were “Told” there would be no swim suites as part of the pageant, they never asked the women, they decided it for them, what if the women competing were proud of their body they had after all worked very hard to get their body in shape for the swim suite part of the contest, so others do tell women what they can do with their body another example was that women were told there would be no more silicon breast implants, they said it was bad for women these are the same pro-choice people that decided breast implants were harmful, and they were proven to be wrong but that didn’t stop them from telling woman what they could do with their body and no woman was harmed by the breast implants, now women are told that they must compete in woman sports with biological men who say they identify as women and the biological women are told they have no choice, This makes the Statement My body my choice non-factual.
Technology has become so advanced that a pregnant woman at twenty weeks with an Ultrasound see a completely formed baby, five fingers, five toes a torso a complete human. Medical science has admitted that a child could live outside the womb in the third trimester the term a preemie used to define this infant. So my question is why an infant is worthless inside the womb but precious outside, show me where the logic and morality lay, as Dennis Prager stated that we must set aside rape and incest as it is so rare it cannot be in the same category. What then is this inside the womb? property? Or trash. What if the woman has the baby? Then decides to kill the infant, would you consider that murder? If a pregnant woman is shot or stabbed and her baby dies society states it would be homicide, if the baby and the mother are killed it is called a double homicide, or are you going to say because it is still in the womb, it is property? Or do you believe that this growth inside the womb is a living being, property or Trash you decide. Both Women and Men have a choice, for men a vasectomy is reversible, if a woman decides she does not want children in her life, sterilization is an option, however it is not reversible, but for both there are alternatives beyond an abortion unless you want to wear a T shirt that reads, I have had twenty-one abortions, or perhaps after the tenth abortion you decide to have the baby, what will you say to your child? will you tell them how lucky they are, because you killed the ten him or her, logic and morality is all I ask.
