In his five terms in the legislature, Rep. Ken Gordon has shown a keen ability to get results for Bedford, Burlington and for our Commonwealth. He looks forward to partnering with Rep. Ciccolo to help Lexington through his representation of Precinct 6. This session, he has worked hard to support the district’s residents and small businesses emerge from the Covid crisis. He obtained $225,000 in state-administered federal funding to support small business through the Burlington and Bedford Chambers of Commerce.
While the Second Amendment protects the rights of some people (not convicted felons, for example) to own some guns (not war weapons, at least in my opinion), our residents have a civil and moral right to feel safe in our schools, malls, theaters, town centers and more. Our right to safety is at least as valuable as a Second Amendment right. I am proud that Massachusetts has taken reasonable, measured steps to protect our residence from gun violence and by every measurable standards, is one of the safest states in the Country. We can and must always do more, but other states are learning by our example.
