In his five terms in the legislature, Rep. Ken Gordon has shown a keen ability to get results for Bedford, Burlington and for our Commonwealth. He looks forward to partnering with Rep. Ciccolo to help Lexington through his representation of Precinct 6. This session, he has worked hard to support the district’s residents and small businesses emerge from the Covid crisis. He obtained $225,000 in state-administered federal funding to support small business through the Burlington and Bedford Chambers of Commerce.
I am proud to live in the state that was the first to recognize same-sex marriages and that has worked to prevent discrimination on every level. LGBTQ+ youth should be welcome in school without being singled out. We can and will work to treat all people the same, and distinguish them by their behavior, and not by their appearance, age, gender or who they love. I proudly voted to expand the civil rights of transgender people, including the right to use the bathroom where the person feels most comfortable. I will not engage in fear mongering. I will never, ever support legislation aimed at suppressing discussion of the makeup of our families, including the diverse ways in which they are made up, in schools. And I will never, ever ban books in public schools because they discuss topics such as same-sex parents.
