Congressman Garret Graves represents Louisiana’s Sixth Congressional District in the United States House of Representatives. More than 750,000 people live in the 13 parishes that make up the sixth district, which includes most of Garret’s hometown of Baton Rouge, the bulk of the Capital City’s suburbs, parts of parishes along both sides of the Mississippi River to the western shores of Lake Pontchartrain and continues south through Thibodaux to Houma.
As we work to protect the health and safety of Louisianans and minimize the economic damages associated with America’s response to the 2019 novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, I encourage you to remember this fact: In Louisiana, we've seen our share of hurricanes, floods, and other disasters; people here know how to be resilient and pull through hard circumstances like this, and I'm confident that we are going to come out on the other side strong.
Congress - and the entire federal government - is acting to help Americans as we all respond to this pandemic. We are allocating healthcare resources to combat the virus, providing support and relief to help limit economic damages, and spurring private innovation to accelerate therapies so we get Americans back to work.
