I became a doctor because my parents taught me that helping others is our highest calling. For more than twenty years, I have helped patients face and overcome their health challenges and go on to lead richer lives. I am running for Congress because CA-40 needs leaders who wake up every day to solve problems and actually help families in our district.
Every person has the right to feel safe in their homes and communities. I believe that we must expand resources for community policing and hold violent criminals accountable.
I support our law enforcement officers and think they are instrumental in protecting our communities. The federal government should support law enforcement and provide them with the tools and training necessary to do their jobs.
I believe that agencies should be trained in de-escalation tactics and implicit biases. Cities and counties should also employ more on-call substance abuse counselors, mental health professionals, and social workers who would partner with law enforcement on calls where their expertise is required
